Brian Buckner is the Founder and Head Coach of the Northeast Tennessee Track & Field Club. Brian ran at Daniel Boone High School graduating in 1977. At Daniel Boone, he ran several events but was primarily a sprinter concentrating on the 440 and mile relay. Brian was a member of the mile relay team that still holds the school record. After high school, Brian ran as a freshman at Milligan College in the 400 and 400 hurdles. He then transferred to ETSU to finish his education earning degrees in accounting and education.
Brian returned to his alma mater and served as an assistant track & field coach from 1987-1989. In 1993, he started the track club. From 2000-2004, Brian served as an assistant coach at Science Hill with primary responsibilities for meet management.
Brian is also heavily involved in officiating track & field and cross-country meets and is a nationally certified USATF official. In 2006, he began Slipstream Timing & Meet Management which travels around timing and scoring meets.

ERNEST HILL - Associate Head Coach, Horizontal Jumps & Conditioning
Ernest Hill has been with the club since 1997 and is a valuable part of the program. Ernest graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, VA where is played football and was a part of a tremendous group of jumpers on the track team. He attended the University of Virginia before transferring to Tennessee State University where he played football. Ernest served as an assistant track coach at Science Hill High School for many years and then was head coach from 2000-2004. During that time, the boys track team finished 3rd in the state.
Ernest primary duties with the club involve the horizontal jumps and conditioning. He is also a USATF certified official.
