About Us
Brian Buckner is the owner of Slipstream Timing & Meet Management. Brian has been involved in the sports of track & field and cross-country since he was a high school freshman in 1974. After running at Daniel Boone High School and Milligan College, Brian graduated from East Tennessee State University with degrees in accounting and business education. After teaching and coaching for a few years, he became co-owner of Awards & Images in 1997. Awards & Images provides a full range of award and recognition products.
Brian has been involved in officiating and managing meets since he graduated from college. He is a USATF nationally certified official. In 1993, he founded the Northeast Tennessee Track & Field Club. While still involved as an official at many meets, Brian began moving into meet management and administration in 1998 and quickly became known as someone who could run a quality meet. At the same time, Brian began timing meets using FinishLynx. Experience with youth, high school, and college meets has given Brian a tremendous storehouse of knowledge that can be applied to events.
Terry Barnett is a valuable part of the Timing Task Force. Terry & Brian met in 1996 when Terry's daughters joined Brian's track club. Terry quickly became an important part of the track & field scene. He helped coach the throwers in the club including his daughter, Courtney, who has won two AAU national titles and four Tennessee high school state championships. Terry is also a USATF national certified official and is in great demand as an official. Terry's primary responsibity with Slipstream Timing is as FinishLynx operator.
The nephew of owner, Brian Buckner, Jonas began working with Slipstream Timing during the 2007 cross-country season and quickly made himself a valuable addition to our staff. Jonas is a wiz with computers and is quickly learning the ways of our sport.

The TIMING TASK FORCE is our nickname for the members of Slipstream Timing. Just as the fire service calls in the task force to assist with special situations, you should call in the TTF of Slipstream Timing to help with your event.
